The beauty in simplicity - A tale of whole grain bread falling in love with three spreads and me falling in love with their complicated relationship

On the Friday night of 12th June we found ourselves walking  into a wedding reception in ecr Chennai . The night entailed the elderly engaging with guests and me just eagerly waiting to go to the food banquet, and then trying all sorts of crazy,mouth watering, eye sparkling dishes.  

When we finally came to it , the second counter we attended was where the magic happened. It was an assortment of different kinds of bread, with different kinds of spreads. We went there and first looked for the Jain section. IT WAS THERE. 

I was already glowing and twinkling like a star, awaiting something good to blow my mind and woh did it.

Just oomphhhh!!!!

Let’s have a slice of multigrain bread with crunchy sides and a soft middle, on top of that, a fine thin spread of oregano butter , a dollop of jalapeno dip , and a spoonful of chili oil. There you have it , a magnificent union that blesses us all with new reforms and positive energy. I am talking about the buttery crunch infused with the aroma of oregano then the creamy tangy salty jalapeno dip and then comes the true wonder: a splash of chilli oil to stick to your taste buds for a few seconds - Extending that beautiful moment infinite times longer. Making you want to experience that entire bite all over again. The flavours washing  each other down one after the other. 

There you have it, a piece of bread with three spreads and their undying harmony.
