Reading a menu card - A stressful dilemma which ended in a herbful result!

On a beautiful evening in May my sister and I went to Fusilli. Now if you are someone who loves all kinds of pasta the most nerve wracking job is to choose which one to EAT....and what’s worse, is when you order the wrong one, resulting in a series of unfortunate events…. like only realising that on your first bite , craving pasta for a week and still not being satisfied, daring to ask your mom if you can eat pasta again in the same week….

and so on.

But this time…..NO…. our stomach AND our mind were in complete sync. And this herbful event occurred when we ordered… WELL…the herbed pasta in fusilli and along with it, it’s cheesy little best friend on toast.

Now this was one of those times when everything in that magical goodness was just the right amount. Let’s start with the fusilli shaped pasta which works much better than penne. Considering that herbed pasta doesn’t have any pasta sauce, penne undermines the other flavours with too much of itself whereas fusilli manages to coat itself with all the other flavors and at the same time maintains its starchy and chewy artistic integrity!

Next up is the olive oil. LIKE JUST…. Pasta , olive oil and butter are the little ‘partners in crime’ trio. Their magnificent blend together gives you a rich bite of

smooth flavourful oil followed by that salty butter contrasting the beautiful texture of

fusilli. Their obvious crime is to make us all CRY with how delicious it all tastes.

And this my friend is just the beginning.

Let’s have a look at the vegetables that make this dish taste like a fresh sunbathed garden. The soft juicy corn…crunchy green pepper…a glorious little bite into the stem of a broccoli and topping it all with black olives. There are times when you are having too much of one flavour , and then suddenly you are hit with the bite of a black olive…..now that, opens your mind to a whole new world. A flavour so mild yet so distinct- this right here is our first little oomph!!!!

And all of this topped with a creamy cheese drizzle managing to coat all that pasta just right. This along with the herbs of course…a good amount of oregano paired with a good amount of chilli flakes for a spicy little kick. There you have it, a rare solved dilemma blowing all our minds. If you haven’t tasted this yet

PLEASE do.

P.S - along with this if you are in the mood for something more .…..
a little extra mozzarella oomph, with salty cheesy liquid contained within it , a delicious baked brown goodness with a covert spice attack from the chillies - have their chilli cheese toast.
It’s good.
